With all the publicity about Apples iPod and how it has revolutionized the consumer music industry, there was a funny comment last night at a Computer History Museum event in Silicon Valley. Apparently Sun Microsystems almost merged with Apple on two occasions, according to Sun co-founder Bill Joy. At one point during the discussion, questioner John Gage, a longtime Sun staffer, asked Sun CEO, Scott McNealy about Sun's "three attempts" to buy Apple. McNealy dodged the question. "We went over to Steve's house, and he was sitting under a tree with no shoes on reading How to make a Nuclear Bomb," McNealy said. So there you have it, Steverino had no intention of getting into the music biz… his first aim was to build a nuclear bomb. The iPod happened by default after Saadam grabbed all the yellow cake!![]()
It can download 1,000 songs and blow up Bermuda at the same time!

hi george. this is one of the funniest posts I've seen this week. Thanks for cheering me up. I'm still awaiting batteries that can make iPods and cellphones last at least 1 month. And to think humans have flown to the moon!
