Who needs an ad campaign when you can do really classy PR? GoldenPalace.com the online gambling company has added to its world-beating collection of junk by snapping up William Shatner's kidney stone for $25K. Shatner has said he will donate the cash to housing charity Habitat for Humanity. The 74-year-old Captain Kirk said: "This takes organ donors to a new height, or to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?" Apparently, $25K, or thereabouts. Originally, though, GoldenPalace.com offered Kirk a mere $15k for the stone, but Jim boldly turned 'em down, noting that his Star Trek tunics had sold for more than $100,000. Golden Palace’s head honcho, Richard Rowe, offered this immortal sound-bite "This is a bold new addition to our fleet" – An apparent reference to Golden Palace's monopoly on Virgin Mary’s in toasted cheese sandwitches and women with corporate logos tattooed on their faces.![]()
Cap'n, I canna hold 'er. The stone's too big!
