I've just spent the last two days in Great Falls, Montana, judging the regional ADDY Awards. I've judged many award shows over the years, both national and regional, and I'm always surprised at the high standards of a great deal of the work, much of it on budgets less than most BDA's spend on a days coffee supply. The biggest advertisers in small markets are always banks and car dealers. Most of the bank stuff is OK and sometimes pretty damned good. There were a couple of stand outs in that category in this show. But, as usual all the car dealer stuff was dreadful! Why are these guys commited to such crappy advertising? Why do they do the same old cliche stuff? I guess it's in their genes! OK, will post some more when I get home in a few hours.![]()
Can we get a few more cars in there?
