Seems like major advertisers never fail to stop throwing money at big TV events which usually end up a bust. After the Super Bowl next on the list for the most expensive 30 second spots is the Academy Awards telecast airing March 5, which will include new sponsors Coca-Cola and Miller Brewing. Coke replaces Pepsi in the soft drink category and Miller supplants Anheuser-Busch in the beer category. But as all these products taste exactly the same (Like dishwater!) Do you think anyone will notice? Commercials in the telecast sold for about $1.7 million per 30-second spot, and incumbent advertisers from previous years were given first dibs. And even though viewer numbers have been going down for years, stupid clients keep ponying up the dough! The funniest part about the whole charade is that most of the people, who watch the Oscars, rarely go to the movies. No wonder they call Hollywood La La Land!![]()
They didn't tell me I'd need a moving truck to get it home!
