The butler just got kicked downstairs. AskJeeves.com said today that Jeeves is toast! From now on it will just be simply a boring Ask.com with what they claim to be a better approach for focused search that goes beyond keywords. "Other engines just do 10 blue links and ads around them. We have really gone a lot further," Jim Lanzone, general manager of Ask.com, said in an interview. "Users are going to experience a search engine that does more for them faster than any other search engine they use." Well all I can say is they’ve got a heck of a lot of catching up to do. Claiming to be the fourth most popular U.S. Internet search site sounds not too bad. But, fourth in that business is like going to the Olympics to win five gold medals, coming back with none, and saying you just went for the nightlife!![]()
Oh, I say old thing. Bally rotten show!
