This just in… Megan Stooke has been named the new marketing director of General Motors' Hummer. She replaces Liz Vanzura, who was recently appointed marketing director for Cadillac. Which means Ms. Vanzura has gone to take care of an old world dinosaur, while Ms. Stooke is to look after the new world dinosaur! In her new capacity, Ms. Stooke will be responsible for developing and executing Hummer's overall marketing strategy, positioning and branding for the vehicle worldwide. She also will provide direction to Hummer's ad agency, Modernista! (ModernWhat?) in Boston. Prior to joining the Hummer team, Stooke was director of advertising and sales promotion for GM's Chevrolet division. Wow… Considering Chevy’s ad over the last few years, I am somewhat under-impressed! Prior to her time at Chevrolet, Stooke worked for GM's Australian subsidiary, GM Holden, for 10 years in various marketing and sales roles. Before that, she spent six years at Kraft Foods Australia. Well, based on my experience of Aussie cars and food… I’d rather eat a snag and drive a tinnie!![]()
G'day... Don't know about you, but I'm ready to point Percie at the porcelain!
