Interesting to read that Marketing Drive of Wilton, Connecticut has been named lead U.S. promotional agency for various Pernod Ricard spirits brands, including Wild Turkey, Jameson, Kahlua, Malibu, Glenlivet, Aberlour, Ballantine's, Don Pedro and Presidente. Pernod Ricard last year acquired Allied-Domecq, which increased the size of its U.S. business to the point were it is about to dominate the US spirits market for the foreseeable future. And why am I interested, you ask. Only ’cos I worked on the account for many years in both Europe and the US. And was responsible for introducing Pernod Ricard’s “Director Generale” Patrick Ricard to the pleasures and fleshpots of New York when he was a callow youth in the sixties! But, that’s another story, which I will have to tell you another time, in a less public venue!![]()
Patrick Ricard... I knew him when he was as young as I was!

Ah, Allied-Domecq, I ALSO knew them when...
...when they had certain legal troubles relating to kickbacks involving their sales promo agency at the time.
