A story on Seth Godin’s blog on March 8th, links to a story out of Cincinnati about Apples that taste like grapes! Apparently a company in Washington by the name of Get Fit Foods think they're on to something with the Grapple, which is a Fuji apple that’s been impregnated with grape juice. Get Fit will market Grapples to kids because they believe once they taste these Concord grape-flavored apples, they'll trade in their sugary snacks for healthy Grapples. Listen guys, I have news for you, years ago, when I worked on the Hunts Foods account in New York, we came up with something called “Crazy Peaches.” Canned peaches that tasted of lime, or orange, or banana, or whatever. Big flop. ‘Cos kids aren’t dumb. The expect peaches to taste like peaches. I wouldn’t be surprised if they expect apples to taste like apples!
I think that last apple just went to my head!
