I was somewhat surprised to read earlier this week that PC Magazine, published by Ziff Davis, is redesigning itself with new sections, columns and original photography. According to Editor-in-Chief Jim Louderback, PC Magazine will offer its 5.1 million monthly readers a refreshing redesign of the popular bi-weekly magazine. It then goes on to claim a rate base of 700,000 readers. OK, I am not a media genius, but how do you extrapolate a base rate of 700,000 into a 5.1 million readership? That’s 7.25 readers for every copy… Unless it only goes to Doctors waiting rooms and sits in the reception with the National Geographic’s for the next couple of years. Anyway, you know more than half that 700,000 is comped. That’s how I get mine! Ooops, just caught the bit about it being a bi-weekly, but the readership is monthly! So that means the readership is 2.55 million per issue, which means 3.625 readers per issue… Ouch my head hurts… Gotta hand it to those media guys though, they can certainly manipulate the numbers!![]()
Hi, I'm your new rep from PC Magazine. Don't confuse readers with readership. OK?

Gp, I thought you said all the photos of you when you toured with Joe Cocker in the 70's were lost?
