Anyone who cares about blogging, whether it be creating them or simply reading them should be paying attention to what’s going on in a San Jose appeals court on Thursday. This is when the 6th District Court of Appeal will hear arguments in a case triggered by Apple, which two years ago went to court to unearth the identities of individuals who leaked confidential information on a new product called ``Asteroid'' to three sites that specialize in Apple-related news. Seems like power freak Steve Jobs has a vendetta going against one in particular, PowerPage.org, a blog run by an Apple aficionado by the name of Jason O’Grady that offers up a daily menu of online gossip about all things Apple. It looks like just another run-of-the-mill site in the vast and exploding blogosphere -- advertisements, links and an introduction that says ``Publishing since 1995.'' In a possible test of what, exactly, is a journalist in an exploding universe of blogs and Web sites, the appeals court will consider whether sites like PowerPage are entitled to the same protections against divulging confidential sources as established media organizations. The closely watched legal spat appears headed for the California Supreme Court. Bloggers should keep their eye on this!![]()

If iGod wants to spend his time better, maybe he should go after the leak onboard the his own ship, the USS Apple, not a blog that gets tips.
