Today’s story on MSNBC, about Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, as well as CEO Eric Schmidt continuing to receive $1 each in annual salary and forego bonuses in 2006, while holding shares potentially worth gazillions of dollars in the company, reminded me of when Steve Jobs returned as “Acting – Temporary – I’ll only be here for a short while CEO,” after his years in the wilderness, he too only took $1 in salary. Mind you, they gave him $400 million for Next Inc., which was on its last legs. Oh, and they also bought him his very own Gulf Stream so he could get around without too much hassle. Well, I guess all the hardship was worth it, ‘cos he ain’t short of a dollar or two now. I suppose you could say the same about Sergey, Larry and Eric. None of them will ever have to worry where their next Ferrari is coming from!![]()
I'll take a dozen in assorted colors. No, make it two!
