In my never ending belief that the advertising agency business is the most screwed up one in the world, further proof was delivered with today’s news that LG Electronics is reviewing creative chores for its U.S. ad account, and incumbent BrandBuzz is invited to defend. The technology company spent about $50 million on domestic measured media in 2005. BrandBuzz, a WPP Group shop, has handled the consolidated LG business for less than a year. Even worse, LG has gone through about five agencies in the last five years, leaving each one before they had recovered a small part of the cost of pitching the business in the first place. So, my question is… Which agencies in their right mind would pitch it now… Wanna bet… Lots?![]()
Here's the creative brief. We'd like a dozen assorted ideas tomorrow!
