Elliot Spitzer, New York's attorney general is continuing his one man war on the pop-up up criminals who never stop trying to screw up your computer through the use of previously installed "spyware”. Spitzer said Direct Revenue LLC has installed millions of pop-up ad programs that also monitor the Internet activity of users. He’s already sued one company on allegations they’ve installed spyware and adware onto thousands of PC’s without the computer user's knowledge. Spitzer ultimately settled with Los Angeles-based Intermix Media Inc. for $7.5 million in penalties over three years. Intermix, which also developed the popular social-networking site MySpace, is now part of News Corp. Does this mean Rupert Murdoch, “The Mad Baron of the Yellow Press” is now a major player in the spam business? Wouldn’t be surprised, he’s got his fingers in everything else!![]()
No, I wouldn't do that to a dog. Unless it was called Rupert!
