According to this weeks AdAge only “laid-back Baja California locals” were cast as the talent and also used to scout the beach locations just north of Cabo San Lucas for shooting Pacifico Beer's latest print campaign which will break next month. The ads shows Baja scenes with friends enjoying surfing, playing guitars and Pacifico Beer. The images are so authentic, contends the agency, that even the fish pictured were caught in the morning and became dinner for the crew's post-production celebration. "Pacifico is indigenous to the pure Baja experience," Matt Peterson, the agency’s creative director, said. "We wanted the Baja crowd—the authenticity seekers and those who dream of being there—to see a bit of themselves in these executions." Hello! Apart from that sounding like a load of old tripe… I have just one question… On behalf of all authenticity seekers, shouldn’t the “locals” enjoying all this Baja comradeship have been Mexicans, rather than a bunch of US surfer dudes? ![]()
Welcome to Mexico. Can I see your stinkin' green card?
