
I just love the German TV campaign for Renault cars. Promoting safety, it features staged crash sequences in a laboratory situation. But unlike all the other ads we’ve seen showing cars with test dummies getting mangled as they hit barriers, this campaign features giant sausages, sushi and baguettes exploding and crumpling as they undergo various crash tests. All the while the soundtrack is a very French, very thirties Edith Piaff singer. So much more sophisticated and amusing than CP+B’s over the top VW series. ![]()
