
It would seem that the Hippocratic Hypocrites of the American Medical Association are calling for a temporary moratorium on direct-to-consumer prescription drug and implantable medical device advertising. 10 years after the government began allowing companies to pitch their products on television, there is a boom in costly advertising campaigns for branded drugs. It’s also the single most profitable business the BDA’s of Madison Avenue can get their slimy paws on. So come’on guys, what do you think the chances are that this moratorium will actually happen… Remember, this would mean no more conferences on atomic gall bladders in Hawaii, or new techniques in dildooscopy on the 19th hole of St. Andrews… Damn, next thing you know, you’ll have to give up the villa on Cap Ferat.![]()
