What’s a company to do when it’s being hammered in the press for its recent poor performance? Why, throw a birthday party for a prominent journalist, of course. That’s what Dell and its public relations agency did this week for Wall Street Journal power broker and Editor Don Clark. The companies plied Clark and other reporters at a Dell party with a chocolate birthday cake, champagne and assorted cocktails. One can only imagine how much it cost Dell for this little effort, particularly as it doesn’t exactly fit into Dell's recent cost cutting program. And we all know the press can’t be bribed in such an obvious way… Right?![]()
Happy B'day Don. Now could you write something nice about us?
