Interesting that the final ad in Nike's World Cup campaign pays tribute to the skills of Ronaldo, just as the star has been barraged by criticism that he is no longer worth his place in the Brazil team. It was even reported in some German newspapers that the reason he has played badly so far is not just because he’s overweight, but that he may even be pregnant! The Weiden & Kennedy ad talks in superlatives, calling the Real Madrid footballer "boy wonder, the king, the miracle man, the keeper's nightmare, the phenomenon" and "the unstoppable number nine". Yet critics described his performance in Brazil's opening match against Croatia as akin to a "groggy heavyweight boxer having been landed a sucker punch" and that he "needs some more time getting fit before starting a World Cup game". That’s the problem with “personality ads,” if the personality doesn’t live up to the hype it’ll come back and bite you in the ass, particularly if it’s a big fat one!![]()
I'm not fat... I'm PHAT!!!

Which positions him perfectly to get picked up Major League Soccer here, who are in a 'let's sign an international superstar to help the league' mode.
Hmmm, guess they don’t remember how well the whole Pele thing worked out a few years back for the Cosmos.
