Sometimes you just have to shake your head in disbelief when you read about American car companies approach to advertising. It would seem that Cadillac's latest ad campaign will introduce the theme "Life. Liberty. And the Pursuit" in an attempt to connect with a younger generation of potential customers. In the immortal words of Cadillac global marketing director Liz Vanzura… "We have raised awareness and achieved good momentum with the Cadillac brand, but now it's time to put a face on the brand and invite more consumers to experience what Cadillac has to offer." Mmmm… Does that mean they raised awareness of something no one recognized? She then waffles on about how the new advertising is meant to connect the brand with its U.S. heritage of being "the American luxury automobile icon and symbol of success." Hey, just the thing the average recent high school graduate can cotton on to. Maybe they could pony up for a new “Caddy” with the tips they make flipping burgers. Then they talk about turning the American Auto Biz around!!!![]()
When I get my licence, I'll actually start driving it!
