Today’s news that Red Brick Road has won the Heineken account doesn’t surprise me. After all Frank Lowe (founder of Red Brick Road) was closely associated with Heineken at his former shop, Interpublic’s Lowe. Heineken becomes Sir Frank’s second client after Tesco, which shifted its $80 million account from Lowe's London office in March. OK, we all new Frank was going to raid his old shop, much to the dismay of the clowns running Interpublic. But what never ceases to amaze me is that the Heineken incumbent – In this case, Strawberry Frog – Chose to defend the account. What’s wrong with these people? Why would you spend a ton of money, and I guarantee you they threw a pile at it, to defend an account that is 100% out the door. Further proof of the insanity of this business.![]()
Oh well, I'm not much of a beer drinker, anyway!
