Advertising, ad campaigns, ad agencies, and the people that make it happen

AOL, one of the single biggest screw-ups in the entire history of the communications industry is about to lay off another few thousand employees in yet another desperate attempt at profitability. Of the more than 5,000 to be let go, 50 of them are the pathetic people responsible for the creation and distribution of all those dreadful “Free-trial” software CD’s you get bombarded with more often than the phone calls from fake fund raisers that start happening the minute you sit down to enjoy your gourmet macaroni and cheese dinner. Apparently this is going to cause a logjam of several million CD’s sitting in Chinese warehouses ready for shipment to the US. No doubt they’ll get recycled as counterfeit copies of “Star Wars XII.” Either that or we are never going to run out of drink coasters!

Is this what they mean by             the "New Economy?"
