
Newly formed Draft FCB has joined the Merrill Lynch roster, winning the direct marketing portion of the client's product portfolio following a review. Estimated revenue on the direct piece that Draft FCB will now handle is $5-10 million. The other agencies pitching were undisclosed. JWT New York and “Boathouse” in Waltham, Mass., have been the client's main shops in recent years. When JWT picked up the account in the nineties the work was outstanding, then in inevitable BDA fashion, by trying to please a succession of clueless client management, it rapidly went downhill. Now it’s pretty bad. I expect to see a continuation of this trend from the new shop. ![]()
