Shows you how bad things are getting when a new study by executive recruitment firm Korn/Ferry International, shows that even though Cell phones and BlackBerry email devices may be addictive, most business executives insist mobile technology has improved the balance between their work and home. Apparently four out of five executives globally are always connected to work through mobile devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, laptops or pagers. And you know what? I’ve worked with many of these freaks over the years. The majority end up with ulcers, kids who don’t recognize them and ultimately failed marriages. But the biggest failing I’ve found with these people is; lack of trust. They have such oversized egos; they can’t imagine their companies not falling apart if they’re not available to make the “Big Decisions” 24/7. And guess what, if something happens to them and they’re no longer around, the company usually does OK. In fact, many times it actually performs even better.![]()
