Goodby has thrown in the towel on the ongoing Safeway broadcast creative and media review a week before final presentations, leaving Euro RSCG in New York and Omnicom's DDB in Chicago to battle it out for one of the worst accounts in Christendom. It’s retail, it’s groceries, it’s buy two dozen toilet rolls get one free country!  Disregarding Goodby’s claim that it withdrew owing to a heavy workload and various other client commitments, fugedaboutit… In spite of the ever tightening new biz ad scene, Geoff and Rich realized life is way too short to be grinding out 500 ads a week disclaiming this weeks “Super Saver Chopped Liver Special!” Much better off doing bad HP ads.
