News to make a game freak’s day… Xbox and Electronic Arts are doing a joint promotion with the state of Mississippi and the town of Madden, Miss. Which is a giant metropolis of 74 households, to invent something called “National Madden Day.” All this to launch Madden ’07 on Xbox 360. The 74 householders will enjoy the company of footballers Jerry Rice, Warren Moon and Marshall Faulk as they play the game on the latest Xbox with local children and other football gamers at Xbox 360 kiosks. Electronic Arts claims the Madden game is the biggest selling sports game on the market, and for its launch in Madden, the state governor’s office will issue a proclamation and local school marching bands will participate in the festivities. Funnilly, there’s no actual word on whether John Madden himself will be there… Maybe they couldn't get his bus down the Main Street!
Unfortunately, there are no flights to Madden. Well, that's my excuse!
