With all the furor about social networking and the huge fortunes everyone is expecting to make from them, we now have an international networking site for parents, Minti, which has officially launched after completing the public beta program it started in March. Calling itself an ‘advice-opedia’ for parents worldwide, the site claims to have signed up “hundreds of thousands of members” for its user-generated content and other Web 2.0 features. The parent Australian company, Vibe Capital, claims to be in talks to license its technology to other online community start-ups, as well as considering the launch of more social networking ventures in other vertical sectors. Which means we can look forward to advice-opedia’s for dogs, robots, cross dressers and masochists! Ooops forgot, most social networking sites already cater to them. The content for Minti is pretty banal, with lots of advice on starting the little buggers off with a hearty breakfast, keeping them warm in the winter and cool in the summer. You know, all that stuff Dr. Spock wrote about 50 years ago!![]()
Don't you wish you had a dozen?
