It would seem that neither Toyota nor Chrysler is buckling under pressure from the Parents Television Council to pull their advertising from the FX Networks' excellent series "Rescue Me." The PTC asked both advertisers to withdraw from the show about New York City firefighters. FX Networks promptly told them to take a hike! The PTC then issued a series of press releases criticizing Toyota and Chrysler, calling the show "cultural sewage" in the wake of recent episodes depicting graphic rape and brutal violence. Wow, sounds like an average day in the ad biz to me. Anyway, having worked with Dennis Leary on IBM stuff, all I can say is, I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have pulling me out of a blazing bar! And as far as the PTC is concerned, there’s a button on your TV labeled “Off.” ![]()
You know who not to call if your TV catches fire!
