So M&C Saatchi in Los Angeles has won creative and media duties for the Getty Museum following a review. An agency SpokesHack states, "One of our namesakes, Charles Saatchi, is synonymous with art, not just advertising. In this case it's a happy coincidence, but working for the Getty everyday will be a great opportunity to express our interest in art." I wonder if the Getty people have thought this one through. Charlie is famous for his love of the more outrageous when it comes to art. He is credited with single handedly building the career of Damien Hurst, best known for his specialty… Festering dead animals such as sheep, cow’s heads and sharks, all swimming around in vast tubs of formaldehyde. Not quite up to the standards of the Getty’s more classical take on art. Both Charlie and Morris were also notorious for jumping on the Concorde at the drop of a hat if they fancied a quick lunch in New York, ‘til a shareholder revolt put the lid on that, as well as their involvement with Saatchi & Saatchi.![]()
Baaaa... Humbug!
