I am always amazed at how marketers can continue to aim products at the public when common sense should tell them it’s nothing more than snake oil. News on Brandweek today that Wild Oats Markets (aren’t you supposed to sow those?) is pushing “a range of products to support kids' brain health.” According to a release from the company, "Children need certain nutrients to keep them healthy in all areas of their lives. These back-to-school brain health products contain Omega-3-rich fish oil, which helps support healthy brain development, magnesium which may help manage certain behavioral problems, vitamin C to fight colds, calcium for strong bones and much more.” I mean c’mon, it’s bad enough that kids eat so much junk their parents have to dose them with multi-vitamin pills… So here’s an idea… Why not just give them a well balanced diet. Yeah, I know, today’s well balanced diet, even for most adults is a couple of whoppers, or a giant pizza, washed down with a 64 ounce diet soda ‘cos that compensates for all the crap you just ate. Personally, I’ll stick with steak and kidney pudding, with spotted dick for desert, all washed down with a few pints of Boddingtons! ![]()
No wonder it's good. It's brewed in my home town. Right next to the jail!!!
