
The Michelle Wie farce continues with the news that she and NFL quarterback Peyton Manning will be featured in Sony ads in the fourth quarter of this year. Apparently Wie will appear in holiday-themed efforts for Sony's Bravia, Vaio, Walkman, digital still cameras and its new Mylo wireless broadband communications device. Undoubtedly, Sony has a reason for spending tons of money on a “Sports Personality” who has never won anything, even in the LPGA, yet seems to be obsessed with making the cut in a men’s event. I guess it just goes to prove the old Canon tag line in the younger Andre Agassi days… “Image is everything.” In the case of Andre though, there was a hell of a lot of substance and talent to support the image. As for Michelle, we’’ just have to wait and see! ![]()
