A couple of weeks ago the New York Times had an interesting piece questioning why none of the CEO’s of Fortune 500 Company’s with the single exception of Jonathan Schwartz of Sun, writes a blog. Having dealt with a few of them over the years, I think it’s probably a combination of incompetence, lack of writing skills, spending too much time on the golf course and being far more concerned about the size of their compensation package than communicating their thoughts and ideas to the lumpen shareholders and employees. As writer Randall Stross, points out, even though Microsoft boasts 3000 bloggers (Sadly, no longer including the wonderful Robert Scoble,) Neither Gates or Ballmer are included in that number. But given that most CEO’s are ego driven, greedy pigs, I have to admit they are not in the communications business. Unless they are CEO of an Ad Agency or conglomerate… Mmmm. And just how many of those blog? At last count… Zero. Then the $64,000 question is… How many of the CD’s of these agencies blog? I mean c’mon, most of them are writers, or they were at the beginning of their luminous careers. So why aren’t they blogging? More on this in the next couple of days.![]()
Well, it's a start!

Ahem.
