Advertising, ad campaigns, ad agencies, and the people that make it happen

My old pal “The Cartoonist” who has a very splendid European blog you should immediately check out, was kind enough to forward me a link to a poor bugger in who just got laid off from HP. If you remember my post of yesterday, when I was talking about the impending lay off of up to 20,000 people on Tuesday, this unfortunate fellow got laid off last week. He was one of 1,000 management people being laid off ahead of the 20,000 who will get the chop on Tuesday. Sorry if that’s a bit confusing. But what it all adds up to is more than 20% of the entire Intel workforce. And no, in reply to “colin” who seems to think I take great delight in such an unfortunate event… Get this straight buddy, having been laid off myself a few times in the past; I have nothing but sympathy for these people. Particularly if the economy goes South which I believe it will in the next few months.
