Why is it that Ad agencies seem to think everyone out there is as dumb as they are. When Sir Frank Lowe’s Red Brick Road in London (With a name like that, there’s the first hint of dumbness) recently picked up the Heineken account from Strawberry Frog of Amsterdam (There’s the second hint of dumbness,) they claimed it was worth $120 million. Then, when announcing layoffs yesterday, Strawberry Frog referred to it as a $75 million account. They also said they would be letting five people go. Brand Republic in London said it would be eighteen people. Apart from the fact that the numbers were in the trade press, lots of disgruntled ex-employees will soon be blogging the true facts of the matter for all to read. I sometimes wonder if ad agencies ever come to grips with the realization that they’re in the communications business. I doubt it! ![]()
Hi... I'm the Purple Pig. I'm starting an agency next week. Got an account for me?
