After Edelman’s Wal-Mart blog screw up I thought it would be pretty hard to improve on that level of dumbness, but guess what? Nikon just topped it. Apparently they held an international painting contest for children. Winners would receive a Nikon digital camera. There were several winners, including a 12 year old from Cuba. Nikon refused to award him a camera as “The camera contained a few US made parts, which would have contravened the economic sanctions imposed by the US against the Cuban government!” This is a 12 year old kid for crying out loud. Fidel Castro gave him a better camera anyway. Nikon is now reconsidering its decision… Bit late in the day guys. I wonder if the dufus responsible for this is still on the Nikon payroll?
