
Rory has a niece piece over at BrandWeek (also available on his site at shorttakesblog.brandweek.com) entitled MORE ANNOYANCE FROM CELL PHONE PROVIDERS: He seems to be as annoyed about the proliferation of stupid ring tones on cell phones as I am. I mean whatever happened to “Ring… Ring…” now we have to have The Ride of the Valkyries or the 1812 Overture complete with real cannons. Yes, it does mean more loot for the cell phone companies, and no doubt there is a huge number of people dumb enough to pay for this dreck, and change the bloody thing every week. What does that say about their life? He informs us that Verizon Wireless has just come out with their “spooktacular” Halloween tones, including the Twilight Zone theme, “Werewolves of London,” the Bewitched theme, The Rocky Horror Show’s “Time Warp” and, (groan) “Thriller.” I’m sure they’ll sell a heap.![]()
