With the news today that Walt Disney will limit licensing for most of its cartoon characters to food products low in fat and sugar, I have to wonder if this will really have that much effect on the so-called childhood-obesity epidemic everyone is so worked up about. Apparently, while most Disney licensing deals end by 2008, Kellogg’s deal for all its sugar loaded cereals has another seven years to run. In addition, Disney has licensing deals with Keebler, Coca-Cola and McDonald's for Happy Meals. All I can say is I’d rather see Paris Hilton munching on a Giganto-Burger than Popeye's girl friend, Olive Oil.![]()
It sure as heck doesn't taste like spinach!

C'mon, don't damn the campaign against fat-assed kids with skepticism. Where I live, "enlightened" San Francisco, there is more blubber on schoolgrounds than you'll find on the sea lions at Pier 39. If this ain't an epidemic, then the Plague was just a low-grade flu bug.
