Now it begins… It would seem that some of my dire predictions about MySpace and YouTube might be starting to happen. What am I talking about? First today’s news that YouTube has started purging copyrighted material, including tons of stuff from Comedy Central and 30,000 clips of Japanese TV shows, could be the start of the slippery slope. I mean c’mon, if you take out all the Jon Stewart, Colbert and South Park clips, plus the Japanese TV stuff what’s left? Teenagers miming pop music. Now we’re hearing that MySpace has started purging all the copyrighted music teens have been putting on their sites. It won’t take long to drive the kids away if you do that. Then the millions for MySpace and the billions for YouTube might not look such a good investment. We’ll see. Early days yet. ![]()
Just think. No more classy stuff like this!
