I am at a constant loss to understand how AdAge can continue to promote their outrageously expensive conferences and seminars which ask participants to shell out hundreds of bucks for a few hours of sitting through boiler-plate presentations from so-called “Industry leaders.” Who are usually people that should be back at the ranch running the companies that made them famous in the first place. The latest travesty is “The Idea Conference” which is supposed to be all about “Redefining Creativity.” Something, I thought was always pretty straightforward and hasn’t needed redefining for the last couple of thousand years or so. Anyway, if you need to get yours redefined, cough up $500 to spend seven hours in the company of such luminaries as the founder of “Kid Robot” and the people who make concept cars for Chrysler, who should really be working on a concept to stop Chrysler from going bankrupt. Although, you do get 55 minutes for a “Networking Lunch.” Whatever that is.![]()
Hey, as far as I'm concerned creativity is the freedom to make big orange blotches with my feet... OK?
