With the growing use of embedded advertising in games, such as Adidas’s new tagline “It Takes 5IVE” in Electronic Arts “NBA Live 07” aimed strictly at the young male consumer, it’s interesting to read in a recent BBC feature that more than twenty five percent of gamers in the UK are women, with a great many of those being over 35. It’s also a fact that half the game players in are girls. So what are Sony going to do in the market to capture the female game player? Why launch a pink Play Station of course. And you know that wonderful demonstration of marketing ineptitude came about as a result of twenty guys sitting around in a conference room brainstorming about what would appeal to women. Talk about condescending!![]()
Maybe they should have read this book first!
