OK, so here's what I don't understand about today's news that L.L. Bean is splitting with JWT after only fourteen months. The client spent a mere $7 millon in that fourteen months, to JWT, that's just about the catering costs they incur when Sir Martin pops over from London for lunch. A behemoth the size of JWT cannot make money on an account that size. It should never have taken it on and the client should never have placed the account there... But, then we read that the whole thing was orchestrated by ace agency search consultant, Pile and Co., and we realize why the whole thing is such a joke. These guys operate what has to be one of the great scams of all time. If a client cannot pick it's own agency simply by looking at who's doing the good stuff at the moment, then getting the top three to come in and have a chat... Then they shouldn't have an agency, in fact they shouldn't be advertising. They should donate their entire ad budget to famine relief or an orphanage, or something else worthwhile. It would do everyone, including themselves a lot more good than blowing their pile through Pile.![]()

This whole JWT thing wasn't working out. So we had to give them the boot!
