MySpace has just confirmed that it has been sued by Vivendi Universal Musical Group over copyrighted content. MySpace, the social networking Web site, called the suit "unnecessary and meritless,” and it doesn't encourage or condone copyright violation. "We are in full compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and have no doubt we will prevail in court," said a MySpace spokesman in a statement. "Moreover, we proactively take steps to filter unauthorized music sound recordings and have implemented audio fingerprinting technology. We will continue working to be the gold standard in protecting creators' rights as well as the world's leading lifestyle portal." To which I have to add… Oh Yeah… For a while there, you thought you could get away with it. But you know what? I’ve been saying for weeks, all those chickens are going to come home to roost. And they’re all going to be landing in the “Wizened of Oz’s” back yard.![]()
