Advertising, ad campaigns, ad agencies, and the people that make it happen

So, someone has come up with the bright idea of starting a website devoted to nothing but TV ads. Due to be launched January 15th 2007, it will kick off with a library of 3000 spots old and new. OK, the pros are they should be of better quality than some of the junk you see on YouTube, and you may even get to see some of the new ones before they actually break on TV. But there are a few cons. 3000 isn't that large a number, and as apparently advertisers have to pay to get their spots posted, you might end up with many of them being for pharmaceuticals, financial services and lots and lots of really bad car commercials. Plus, what about all the classics, from the 60's and 70's like VW, Alka Selter, Benson & Hedges etc... Whose going to pay to put those up. If it's just run-of-the-mill current stuff, why not simply switch on the TV?
