Interesting to read in the financial press this weekend that with the Democrats taking over both Congress and the Senate, the drug companies are starting to get nervous that their obscene profits might be hammered if legislation is passed allowing the government to negotiate drug prices directly with the pharmaceutical companies. What only a couple of people seemed to have picked up on is that there could also be a move to introduce legislation barring direct-to-consumer drug advertising. This would be a major, major blow to the BDA’s of this world, as many of them are making a killing in this category. I know for a fact that some Mad Ave behemoths depend on Big-Pharma for 30% to 50% of their income. And even though all the creative’s I know who work on it, hate it… It’s better than pounding the pavement!![]()
