
With the news today that the Volvo account is up for grabs after more than fifteen years at EuroRSCG... And actually you can trace its lineage back to Scali McCabe (Young members of the profession will no doubt now be saying... Scali who?) through that parent organization. I sometimes wonder why car companies - particularly European ones, don't just go back to the archives, dust off the old stuff, and re-run it. Most of it's a damn sight better than the junk they run now, and it would save them a hell of a lot of money. Come to think of it, that would also apply to car rental companies, and air lines, and upset stomach remedies, and just about anything else you can think of. I think I'll start an agency called "Retro-Ads" Advertising for the thinking client... That's if you can find one.
