Here’s another sign of the 800 pound gorilla rapidly turning into an 8,000 pound gorilla. According to research company HitWise Inc., Ailing web-blog search engine Techorati has been just been overtaken by Google. According to HitWise, Google's Blogsearch has seen a 168 per cent surge in traffic since Google started to promote the service more heavily in October. HitWise attributes this surge to cross promotion from Google's own News service. From its launch in 2003, Technorati has struggled to scale with the growth in vanity publishing. Many blogs are created by robots - and only ever read by robots: creating a vast, ghostly parallel universe of junk web pages. And so the site has always been vulnerable to a well-organized competitor. The way things are going, in a few more years, the Blogosphere will probably consist of Google… And nothing!

I am Robo-Blog from Google. My mission is to control the blogosphere... Correction. My mission is to control everything!
