Wow... More golf, what a surprise!

Hey… Here’s some breakthrough news for all you AdHurl fans out there… American Express has been named corporate sponsor of the United States Golf Assn., the first such partner in the USGA’s 112-year history. The multiyear agreement will allow the USGA to improve its marketing efforts and give American Express cardholders access to a range of events run by the association. Why am I under whelmed by this earth shattering announcement? Because Am Ex has been sponsoring golf tournaments, golf courses, golf players and country clubs surrounded by golf courses for years… C’mon AmEx, do something different, for crying out loud. Sponsor a bull castrating contest or something… Just for once break the mold of the expected… But then again, when I used to work on the AmEx account, everyone in the building, including the guy who cleaned the toilets, played golf… So, there you go.
