Advertising, ad campaigns, ad agencies, and the people that make it happen

It’ll be interesting to see how “Becks” (David Beckham) makes out when he and posh make the move to “La-La Land” later this year… $250 million is a lot of money, but little more than a drop in the bucket for Phil Anschutz, the owner of the team… He’s the seventh richest man in America. And anyway, most of the money is coming from sponsors. “Becks” is on the downside of his career and was about to be let go by Real Madrid anyway, so it’s a win-win situation for him. Even “Posh” gets a chance to resurrect her singing career. And worse case, she’ll only be a few blocks from shopping heaven on Rodeo Drive. I just hope the fans don’t expect him to be scoring hundreds of goals… That’s not what he does. He sets them up, and in his time he’s done it better than anyone. The problem is, American sports seem to be dominated by stats, points, yards, even “assists” which no other country in the world that plays football (soccer to Americans) recognizes. Anyway, hope he does popularize the game here… It is after all, the most watched and played sport in the world with good reason.
