With all the hoopla about the future of Mobile Phone Advertising and how it may just take off in 2007, I have to ask… Why would anyone think that? OK, I know the deal will be to convince cell phone users that in exchange for free minutes or reduced rates, they should put up with a few ads flashing across their postage sized screen. But did anyone think that the only people who might be inclined to take the carriers up on this offer are the one’s so short of cash that they probably settled for the real cheapo phone which they got for free only because they signed up for the minimum service. Apart from the fact that their phone probably isn’t exactly state of the art and might not display the advertising message in all it’s full glory on that aforementioned cheapo phone… They probably can’t afford to buy whatever is being advertised…. Am I thinking beyond myself here? It wouldn’t be the first time. But then again, the “Video Phone” was all the rage at the New York Worlds fair in 1964. It ain’t happened yet.

They're installing the "Smello-Phone" this afternoon!

George I think you have a good point. The rest of the story is why should I a poor old guy who has to put up with really stupid radio and television commercials I don't want to watch in the first place want them on my telephone?
I have the thing in my pocket for my own personal use, not lame advertising.
How's that for a guy in the business?
