Text Link Advertising... Can it make you rich? Read the text, then go to the links!

Sponsored Review.

I’ll be up front and tell you that I am getting paid to write this, but it wouldn’t be worth any amount of money if I came across as some kind of blogging shill. No I really believe what I am about to write, you have my word as a scholar and a gentleman – Well as a scholar, OK? Which is a nice segue into this… One of the key questions most people ask about blogging is “can you make money at it?” As any blogger will tell you, the answer is “Yes & No.” But more often than not, it’s No! There are a few people out there who actually make a living at blogging, but most see it as supplemental income, and unless they go through a service which can efficiently bring bloggers and advertisers together in a mutually profitable way, they’ll be putting in an awful lot of effort for very minimal income. That’s why I was impressed by a company by the name of Text Link Ads. Instead of relying on the usual forms of contextual advertising, which if not done properly, the way it is on all KMM sites, can really grunge up your blog. Much better to go the Text Link route which maximizes valuable backlinks instead of just click-throughs. In many situations it will even outperform Google AdSense, but you can run them in tandem and win coming and going. The way it works is that advertisers purchase link-ads specifically designed to send targeted traffic back to their site and increase their ranking in natural search engine searches. You buy the ads at a single rate for a 30 day flight. Obviously the price is negotiated based on site theme and traffic, position on the site, and its Alexa ranking. The poor schmucks like me, pounding out the blog content get to make some money while retaining full overall editorial control over the content of their site. And you get paid every 30 days. As those high-priced American Football Coaches would put it… “It’s a Win-Win situation!”
