One of the big reasons practitioners have always given for the use of guerilla marketing has been that it is far less expensive that most forms of traditional marketing. Last weeks events in Boston are causing many people to take a harder look at what can be the disastrous effects of an ill-thought-out exercise. Turner Broadcasting and Interference Inc., the guerilla marketing agency (with what can now only be considered as a rather unfortunate name!) responsible for the “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” fiasco that almost shut down the city of Boston due to a terrorism scare are now facing having to shell out $2 million and eat lots of humble pie, just to calm things down. This means they don’t have to face any potential civil or criminal charges. It does mean however, they’ll be giving very serious thought to the next guerilla caper they indulge in. That’s if Interference is still around to interfere in anything!

The "Mooninites" used in the caper are now on offer on eBay for up to $4,999.99!
Given the amount of press coverage they got for the marketing gimmick, I'd say $2 million turned out to be a cheap price to pay for the exposure. I bet that had they known what the response would be, they still would have gone forward with it, if all they end up having to pay is $2 million bucks.
